Karen L. Cameron, FACHE, Executive Director (kcameron@cvhpa.org)
Karen has more than 20 years experience in health care planning, community development, and management. She has a BA from the University of Virginia in biology and psychology, a MHA from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), certification in Non-Profit Management, and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. Her background includes six years as a health care management consultant for two national firms and hospital-based experience as a Vice-President for Planning and Marketing. She has served as the CVHPA’s Executive Director for 14 years where she is responsible for directing the day-to-day activities of the Agency, community and resource development, managing projects, and ensuring the quality of all Agency work products.
Angie T. Lee, RN, MHA, Assistant Director (alee@cvhpa.org)
Angie has 9 years of experience in healthcare most recently in health administration. She has a BS in Health Sciences from James Madison University, an AAS in Nursing from J. Sargeant Reynold’s Community College and a MHA from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV) of Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). Prior to her employment at the CVHPA, Ms. Lee worked as an administrative director, a director of clinical operations, and a neuroscience director. At the CVHPA, she is primarily involved in managing and conducting needs assessment, data projects, customized projects, and Certificate of Public Need (COPN) oversight.
Julie G. Owen, Administrative Associate (jowen@cvhpa.org)
Julie has 14 years experience as an administrative professional. She has a BA from Salisbury University in Communication Arts and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree through Regent University. Julie’s professional experience includes computer software instruction, event planning, financial accounting, and project management experience. Her responsibilities at the CVHPA include: website maintenance, bookkeeping, mapping services, network management, and general administration.
Sam Williamson, Health Planning Intern (swilliamson@cvhpa.org)
The CVHPA also employs graduate students from VCU's Health Administration and other educational programs to assist with data analyses, research, administrative, and project support. Sam joined the Agency this year and adds his database expertise and other talents to our staff. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Furman University in South Carolina and expects to complete his MHA from VCU's Health Administration program in May 2010.
